Hey Welcome! I’m Crispina ffrench
Artist, Educator, Empowerer, Plant Eater,
Nature Lover, Cookie Baker, Climate Change Activist
I’m glad you are here, Now let’s make shift happen.

Weekly Theme - Collaboration

This week’s theme is Collaboration.

Which plays really nicely in to a few things going on around here.

Crispina’s Scrapbox Challenge 2020 is in full swing!  A whopping 50 contestants began this creative journey on March 9th together. They have photographed and videoed their processes and made some of the most creatively amazing things I’ve seen. They have collaborated and connected in a private Facebook group that has provided self-care and shown gracious, compassionate, confidence-building support.

One contestant will WIN the GRAND PRIZE which is getting sweeter and sweeter as we go with all sorts of additions. There will be three runners up as well, and they are all chosen by you via online voting kicking off on Earthday, April 22.  Between now and then you can learn about the contestants who have taken the challenge to create something amazing from a box of what most people would mistake for trash.

This whole thing started back before Coronavirus was a household word so our timeline has gotten a little waylaid.  The magical part is that ‘the challenge’ has, and continues to provide a sweet reprieve to the mayhem that is going on in the world.  It has helped all participants feel a powerful connection to the group and their creative endeavor.

Even more than the usual dose of self-care that committing to a daily creativity ritual provides, in this uncertain time we have been able to build a strong centering aspect of our lives. While one of the amazing entrants will win The GRAND PRIZE, the challenge is really all about building each other up and supporting each other.

While each contestant committed to documenting their process, I committed to providing inspirational textile recycling tutorials to get their creative juices flowing. Because I live in a remote area with lack-luster connectivity, those tutorials morphed in to daily Live at 11 (am EST) teaching on my Facebook page.  The crowd there has grown and come to include Scrapbox Challenge participants as well as many who are finding creative connection there for the first time.

I am super excited about a project I have been working on, that promises to continue the magic. This project will combine all that is the Scrapbox Challenge with the community developing around my Live broadcasts. If you are interested in learning more about what I have in store, be sure to tune in on Monday at 11am to my Facebook page.

While you are over there, please take a minute to leave a review – I read every single one, the more Facebook reviews, the more people will see my page, AND your feedback really helps me develop a clear path forward.

So, with all of that said. Collaboration, Yes!  Let's hold on to all the beauty and blessings this pandemic has given us and focus hard on carrying those things with us into the future.
