Hey Welcome! I’m Crispina ffrench

I’m glad you are here, Now let’s make shift happen.

Weekly Theme - Adjusting Course

This week’s theme is Adjusting Course and it couldn’t be more apropos.

We are all adjusting course, as the world adjusts to this unprecedented pandemic avec social media. My choice is to focus on the silver lining as the human population takes a break from our mindless incessant consumption.  I feel the planet rejoicing.  I see images of the greatly reduced air pollution in locked down areas in China and Italy and wonder if now is the time that we will see that our planet is not able to support all of us without our kind and careful thought.  I see wide-open blue skies without toxic streaks of heavy jet fuel emissions.  I feel grounded to slowdown to a more manageable pace finding joy and engagement in things I have overlooked for years.  Cooking with my daughters.  Organizing. Completing projects.  Sewing for fun.  Reading a book.

So, as we move into each new day, let me plant the seed of relaxing into the things we cannot control. Let me suggest that we find what is wonderful about these changes we are living.  Hold on to, and focus on that which can deliver joy.  If you are not finding anything that can give you even an inkling of hope or joy, maybe there is help and inspiration here for you.

If you are finding joy, especially, unlikely joy, maybe your story can enable others to do the same.

My goal is to provide inspiration to find some pleasure in each day as we march along into the unknown. If you have a story to share, any insight that might be helpful and positive, guest posts are welcome and can certainly stretch beyond the typical Thursday posting if there is interest. Learn more about how to contribute with a guest blog post by emailing Hello@Crispina.com with Possible Blog Contribution in the subject line. Tell us a little bit about your idea too.

OK so yes, we are adjusting course and we are going to make it through.  Please reach out if you need help dealing.

There is a Scrapbox Challenge going on right now! #CrispinaScrapbox2020 Details about how it all works are in a few recent posts if you scroll back a few days.  Right now contestants are receiving their boxes – people closest to, or in Massachusetts have gotten theirs with farther flung contestants chomping at the bit to see what sort of treasure is in their package. There are 60 contestants so a lot of action, inspiration, creative ingenuity, and just plain fun. I'll be posting all about it in the next few weeks. There will be online voting to pick the GRAND PRIZE winner and three Runners Up.

I am really excited about a few little (and kinda unedited) tutorial videos posting right here in the next few weeks too.  This series of making videos are designed to show techniques for textile work that might open some doors for Crispina’sScrapbox Challenge contestants.  Is there a technique I use that you would like to see up close and personal in a little teaching video?  Pop a comment below.

So let's all stay the course and keep our physical distance while we connect and share right here.
