Scrapbox Challenge 2020 - Unboxing

Meet The Contestants

Did you ever do something that seemed a little outrageous and even kinda crazy, sort of like you were driven without a clear plan or hesitation and later you looked back and realized clearly just exactly why it all came together so perfectly?

Welcome to Crispina's Scrapbox Challenge!

You might know that I am committed to running a zero-waste textile recycling studio. Every once in a while (ok, twice) scraps begin to pile up and I just don't have time in my schedule to sit down and develop a new product to put the material to good use. As we were switching gears in my studio from wool to warmer weather materials it was clear that there was a whole lot of scrap in need of a creative mind. Immediately, I got started fleshing out the second ever Crispina's Scrapbox Challenge. The first time I ran one it was completely unplanned and I was completely bowled over by the enthusiastic response that came in overnight!

This time around there was a plan so at the end of February the applications went live and again, the response was HUGE! Contestants were chosen from a giant pool of applicants teaming with creative willingness. The number of contestants was limited only by the volume of scrap we had in the studio. It is super exciting to know that there are 50+ people from across the hemisphere getting their creative on right now, in the midst of this crazy, unprecendented time when we cannot even imagine when, or how, it will end. We all need a creative distraction all the time and right now, right now we need this the most!

So, without further ado, let me introduce you to the creative adventurers who hopped right into the pool, applied to take the challenge and were chosen at random to rock a box of what most people would call garbage. They have been charged with making something awesome.  Can be literally anything, from clothing, to art, to home-decor, the sky is the limit.

Here they are, showing the world what they got in their Scrapbox. Pop a comment below to let them know you support their creative journey. Come by the Crispina Facebook page each weekday morning at 11 EST to see my live creative textile recycling tutorials and join the conversation there with these magic makers.

So proud of these ladies!

Crispina's Scrapbox Challenge is a competition. There will be one GRAND PRIZE winner and Three Runners Up all chosen by you with online voting happening right here beginning in early April.
