Reusing and packaging differently to serve others –needlebooks

The world is spinning into a whole new phase, a reset of sorts.  While honoring those who have succumbed to this crazy global pandemic, it is exciting to witness how the coronavirus has impacted our thoughts around lifestyle and what is really important to us.  One of the things that is super important to me and seems to be getting a larger spotlight is reuse.  Everything that we discard fills our environment in some way.  While compost nurtures our soil, pretty much all other waste is an environmental liability.  We can bury our head in the sand and continue down that path or we can begin to look at things with fresh awareness and see value where before we might have seen none.  These little envelopes are containers for the needle books I sell in my shop.  They are made from cast-off screen prints from The Dolphin Studio, a third generation family business that my sister and I run together.  We used to toss these ‘mistakes’ in the recycle bin.

I LOVE to create value from trash and work with manufacturers to help them turn the liability of waste disposal into a revenue stream by desiging and setting up production for new product using solely waste.  If you know a business that might be interested in partnering with me on this sort of thing pop a comment below and tag them.  The main parameters is that they are generating textile waste in North America
