If you want a back story:

I was born in Ireland and lived near Avoca until I was 3 and my family emigrated to the USA. My earliest childhood memory is visiting the hand weaving (at the time) mill full of bright colors and a methodical, mesmorizing, clickety clack of the looms. I remember being entranced by the activities and picnicking on the shores of the babbling brook in the pastures behind the mill. When my family and I spent nearly half a year in Ireland 2016/17 I revisited this place and found what I had remembered. It brought tears to my eyes and made me realize at that very moment why I had become a handweaver first and a textile recycler second. This collaboration is still in the works and fills me with a very hard to describe grounded feeling. It feels right. I hope Avoca and I can grow and support each other for many years to come. This is from a small batch of backpacks (5 total) that were made in the USA with materials collected at the mill.
