The 3 Rs.
An appropriate theme for this week's post.
Our children have a heavy burden to carry. As with all generations, but now seems more daunting then ever. Because violence, because guns, because the Grand OLD Party has gone off the deep end.
How do we renew, revive, rejuvenate our convictions? We can not only look to our children because, as we have heard our kids whine throughout parenting, "THAT'S NOT FAIR!" My son inspires me, but I can only look within on this one. What will get me moving in the right direction to up my well being, get the juices flowing, renew my love for humankind? Nature and good friends is a start.
Today I woke up to a spring snow. Heavy white manta on the daffodils and allium shoots. This lovely image, along with a morning dove making a new nest in the huge old ash tree in our front yard was a cog in the RRR. By the time I made coffee and went out to snap up a few pics the sun was out, the snow was melting and huge clomps of heavy wet snow was plopping down on me. That and the funny texts from a dear friend give me hope. There is nothing funnier then the Venus of Villendorf twerking.
Last night I was out with 3 fellow artists for drinks and nibbles, as my Australian friend called them. That alone brings me joy. Our conversation was so inspiring. Not only did we talk about the makers movement, age, textiles, Venus of Villendorf, relationships, artists's residencies, traveling and living abroad, we laughed our duffs off.
This morning I feel good. I feel blessed to be surrounded by creativity, joy and adventure... and intelligent friends with wicked, crass senses of humor.
