It is likely that most people would have set aside the week before their biggest selling event of the year to organize, price, and primp their wares. I have decided to finish up a bunch of half completed ideas that have piled up in my studio. Each represents an idea of excitement enough to warrant needle to thread pulled through cloth toward achieving alchemy. This week is my opportunity for alchemical completion with the desire to offer it to the marketplace this weekend at Alchemy Initiative’s 3rd Annual HANDMADE HOLIDAY FESTIVAL Sat and Sun 11-5pm. There will be a fabulous silent auction and preview brunch on Saturday morning from 9-11am for $25.
More on that in the next few days. . . . . . . . . .
Here is my mountain of things to finish for the weekend – and this is just a start. Lots of cashmere; scarves – traditional and infinity, sweaters in all your old favorite shapes and styles with a few new smaller more fitted ones as requested. Ragamuffins – there will certainly be a few. Did you see that spread showcasing my blankets in The New York Times on Veterans’ Day? I haven’t been able to make enough of them to keep the phone from ringing but there are a bunch destined for the Handmade Holiday Festival this weekend. Oh and Recycled wool scrap Wreaths and Bobbles will be for sale too, to get your holiday decorating in order! Please come see me if you can. Alchemy Initiative is located in the former Notre Dame church at 40 Melville Street in Pittsfield, MA 01201. 413-236-9600
